Series: Instruments

These images were for my Sophomore year digital photography class. That class had to choose a concept and take pictures for that concept. I chose to take pictures of instruments because I had access to get the photos and I loved the idea. I asked a couple of people in the music department if I could get pictures. They let me and my photos under this description are what I turned in for my final project.

Portraits

It was required to get portrait shots for my digital photography class. The professor told the class that the portraits could be of any person and it had to be from the shoulders up. With the project given to us before spring break, it was perfect because my pictures had a perfect setting, the Cayman Islands. I had some of my friends model for me. The timing and the day was right because we were on the beach and it was sunset. The picture that is not taken on the beach is of a Caymanian. I wanted to show some culture in my photos to get a different look to my pictures.

Cityscape

The class took a field trip to downtown Indianapolis for this project. The project was to get pictures of cityscape, so buildings, architecture, and anything else that resembled buildings. I had a lot of fun with this project because I am fascinated with the different buildings in Indianapolis, and the form and look to them. Some of my pictures were taken during daytime but the others were taken at night. My favorite photos are the ones taken at night because the light coming from the buildings and the poles give the photos a great contrast between the darkness and the light.

Lines and Shadows

This was the first project given to us at the beginning of the semester. I'm glad it was the first project because I got to work with belance of lines and light working in shadows for the composition. The photos that are below are what I turned in. I had to fix some of them in photoshop to make the images straight and edit the contrast between the shadows and the light.
